You know how people throw advice at new moms from all different angles?

At Baby Settler, we’re like a non-judgy, nurse friend who can help them sort through it, so they can make more confident decisions, faster.

We help with everything from breastfeeding to bottle feeding, pumping to weaning, routines to sleep, formula preparation to baby wearing and everything in between.

Step # 1 Book a Consult: Find a time that works for you and after a few clicks, you’re scheduled!

Step # 2 Meet 1:1 with a Baby Settler Provider: Our providers are Registered Nurses with a background in Labor & Delivery, NICU, or Mother-Baby with at least 5 years experience and we’re also Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs). Basically, we’re experts on the biological connection between feeding and sleep.

Step # 3 Get Sleep. With whole-picture clarity (and no preaching!), you can rest assured in whatever decision you make for your family.

Because it’s true what “they” say, this season can suck you dry (literally and figuratively). But it doesn’t have to. Your baby can thrive. You can sleep. Your relationships can evolve. You just need truth at your fingertips.

Do you accept insurance?

Please note that if you’re pregnant or lactating, insurance payers typically cover 6+ visits with no out-of-pocket cost. We partner with The Lactation Network for all insurance pre-approval and claim submission. To see if your consults with our team can be covered by your insurance plan, complete this application PRIOR to your consult. In order for your consult to be submitted to TLN for coverage, you MUST have been approved by TLN prior to your consult with our team. If your consult takes place before you receive approval from TLN you will have to pay out of pocket (private pay) for the consult.

With our highly qualified team of Registered Nurses and Lactation Consultants by your side, you can establish a trusted relationship and receive personalized 1:1 support throughout this important journey.

For optimal support and care, we suggest the following consultation plan, but we would be happy to meet you at any point within the first 12 months of your postpartum journey.

Prenatal Consult: Schedule a consultation between 30-37 weeks of pregnancy to prepare for a confident start.

Initial Newborn/Postpartum Consult: Arrange a consultation within 3-5 days (or within 2 weeks) after delivery to address immediate needs and concerns.

Ongoing Support: Throughout the first 6-12 weeks postpartum we recommend weekly consults as needed.

Anytime During the First Year: Our team is here to assist you with new challenges or concerns that may arise throughout the first year postpartum.

*In-Person Consults Recommended: While virtual consults offer convenience, we highly recommend in-person consultations whenever possible. The direct interaction and personalized observation during an in-person consultation enhance the quality of support and guidance we can provide.

Hey! I’m Katelyn and I have been a nurse for 13 years and have devoted my entire career to maternal-fetal nursing. I have worked in all areas, from labor and delivery to postpartum/newborn nursery and am now a lactation consultant caring for inpatient and outpatient well babies as well as premature and special care infants. I have a passion for education and empowering parents to feel confident, so they are able to enjoy and embrace this new journey in their lives! I love to teach and prepare parents through prenatal consults and enjoy helping during the first few weeks after delivery during the exciting transition of bringing baby home! I just had my fourth daughter and love how my own personal experiences have helped to shape my perspective and allow me to guide my patients through the ups and downs of a new baby. My husband and I live on Isle of Palms with our four daughters and love Lowcountry life!

As a labor & delivery nurse, feeding specialist, and a mom of four, I have a lot of friends. It’s funny. I may not hear from someone for actual decades, and then, when they hit about their third trimester, the texts start rolling in. Honestly, I’m glad to be there for them; few moms have a qualified (and non-judgy!) friend in their corner.

I’m medically grounded and a little crunchy. I have a lot of letters by my name (RN, MSN, IBCLC), but I take everything with a grain of salt. I don’t just accept something because someone says it’s “right.” I unceasingly ask “why” until I can trust guidance enough to practice it in my home and share it with my friends.

I’m super type A (A+ in fact, if that was a thing). This impacts life in lots of ways, but here—it means I don’t let up. In the baby-mom community, there are advances every day, and if someone in our space is practicing the exact way they did five years ago, I struggle to trust them. As the world evolves, so does our content.

You matter to me like your baby matters to you. Okay, I can’t love you like you love your baby, but I do feel incredibly protective of moms in this vulnerable season. Your life has been turned upside down, and I care about how you feel, about your relationships, and about the story that’s being written in your mind.
